This page contains details for parents/carers regarding the Coronavirus.

It is important that we are notified if your child is not going to be in school for any reason.
Please telephone the school office as soon as possible to report any absence.

We appreciate that the rules regarding covid are changing all the time, but just want to reiterate what the situation is regarding your child and attending school.  These are as provided by the Department for Education:

  • If your child develops symptoms of covid at home, please do not bring them to school.  Please phone the school office to let us know of your child's absence. Please also arrange for your child to arrange to undertake a PCR test as soon as possible by calling 119. Please inform the school office of the results of the PCR test as soon as they are available. Your child must continue to isolate until they receive their results. If the test is negative your child can come back to school.  If the test is positive your child will need to isolate for 10 days UNLESS a negative lateral flow result is taken on the morning of day 5 and another negative LFT on the morning of day 6 of isolation. If both results are negative then your child can come out of isolation and return to school on day 6. The full isolation period of 10 days remains for those without 2 consecutive negative LFT taken 24 hours apart.
  • If your child, or anyone in your household, tests positive on a routine LFT when they are not displaying any symptoms, they must follow the isolation guidance immediately, however a confirmatory PCR test is not required. If a person is isolating it is illegal for them to leave their household, therefore alternative arrangments may need to be made in order for your child to attend school.
  • If a child is displaying symptoms of covid at school you will be contacted and will need to collect them straight away – please make sure we have up-to-date contact details.  You will need to arrange for them to have a PCR test.  If the test is negative your child can come back to school, however if this is positive they must follow the isolation guidance as detailed above.

If your child has to isolate at home then we will make sure that they are given work to do at home and will also have access to work via our school website.
